Farriery is the shoeing of horses and similar animals. A farrier is a skilled craftsperson who is able to make shoes for all types of horses’ feet according to the needs and welfare of the animal.
I have been working with horses since I was 16 and in those years I have gained the vital skills and experiences needed to work with a varied range of equine.
Starting out my career with an onsite farrier at a local stud I then progressed to college gaining my forging certificate, where I achieved the highest grades in my classes and was also awarded The Thompson Cup for the best performance on the First Diploma Course.
I continued my learning when i got an apprenticeship with Paul Duddy AWCF in Strabane, where i stayed with him for almost 5 years. I returned to Enniskillen College on a part-time basis where I studied on their farrier upskilling course. I sat my exam in Nov 2013 where I passed to achieve my Diploma with the Worshipful Company Of Farriers, one of the highest ranked body’s within the industry.
I aim to provide excellent customer service and punctuality and strive to build and maintain a professional working relationship with all my clients. I take great pride in my work and with most of my horses being hot shod, and finished to perfection I believe I can provide an outstanding service.
I ride horses myself so I understand how important it is to have a farrier you can trust and who is going to help in every way possible to keep your equine on the road.
